The opening ceremony

Every team walks out at Ullevi Stadium in front of a full crowd on the first evening. For most players it is the largest stadium they have ever stood in.

The format

Group stage into knockout rounds, and the group stage is performance based. Results decide where a team lands: the strongest finishers move into Playoff A, the rest into Playoff B, and both play knockout rounds from there. The draw puts clubs from different continents against each other from the first match.

The city

For one week, Gothenburg belongs to the tournament. 45,300 players and coaches fill the city for the ultimate celebration of football.
